Scams and how they work
The classic: a Facebook page with stolen photos takes full advances for a farmhouse it doesn't control. Protections: pay only after a live video walkthrough or an in-person visit, verify the payee name matches the owner, and prefer venues with verified directory profiles — that verification is exactly what this site exists to provide.
Cancellation norms
Market standard: full advance refund 7+ days out, 50% within a week, none within 48 hours. Weather cancellations for open-lawn events are negotiable — agree the policy in writing at booking.
